Day 1:
Transfer in Nairobi & Fly to Samburu

Welcome to Kenya. You’ll arrive into Jomo Kenyatta International Airport in Nairobi, where you’ll transfer to Wilson Airport for a domestic flight to Samburu, home to Samburu National Reserve and an abundance of wildlife.

You’ll be staying at Saruni Samburu, a luxury property comprised of six eco-chic villas with spectacular views of the Kalama Conservancy and Mount Kenya. As the only lodge in over 200,000 acres of unspoiled wilderness teeming with wildlife to explore exclusively, you’ll be guided by Samburu warriors passionate about their land and culture. A safari experience at Saruni Samburu is intimate and truly exceptional.

Day 2-3:
On Safari in Samburu National Reserve

During the next two days, you’ll enjoy morning and evening game drives in the Kalama Conservancy, Buffalo Springs National Park and Samburu National Park.

You can expect to see the Big Five, giant herds of Samburu elephants coming to drink at local waterholes, leopards making their lairs on rocky outcrops and packs of endangered African wild dogs exploring the plains below the lodge. The area is also home to rare endemic species, such as the Samburu five: Grevy’s zebra, reticulated giraffe, Beisa oryx, Somali ostrich and gerenuk.

You can also enjoy a night game drive in the Kalama Conservancy (this activity is not permitted in the national park), guided bush walks, walking safaris with an armed guide, cultural visits to local villages, trekking excursions up the Samburu tribe’s sacred mountain, Mount Ololokwe, plus visits to local caves to see fascinating rock art

Day 4:
Fly from Samburu to Masai Mara National Reserve

Next, you’ll take a domestic flight to the Masai Mara, Kenya’s superlative wildlife-watching destination.

You’ll be staying for three nights at Saruni Mara, a luxury property comprised of five elegant cottages, one family villa and one private villa. Tucked away in the Africa:Mara North Conservancy, a stay at Saruni Mara offers access to an exclusive, private wildlife concession bordering the world-renowned Masai Mara National Reserve.

Relax with a complimentary 30-minute back and neck massage at Saruni Mara’s Wellbeing Space, then head out into the wilderness for a dusk safari and sundowners.

Day 5-6:
Masai Mara

Over the next two days, you’ll enjoy morning and afternoon game drives in the Masai Mara National Reserve. This iconic reserve offers amazing wildlife viewing opportunities and it’s highly likely that you’ll see zebra, impala, gazelle, wildebeest, buffalo, rhino and elephant. You’ll also see lions, cheetahs, and leopards. There may also be the opportunity for a night game drive, where you’ll see nocturnal animals such as aardvarks and honey badgers.

In addition to game drives, there is a wide range of other activities that you can participate in during your time in the Masai Mara, including cultural visits to Maasai villages and markets, guided bush walks, horse riding, and black rhino tracking experiences. You can also experience a magical hot air balloon flight at an extra cost over the plains of the Masai Mara, followed by a champagne breakfast.

Day 7:
Depart from Nairobi

Today, your luxury Kenya safari tour comes to an end. You’ll take a domestic flight from Mara to Wilson Airport, in Nairobi, then transfer to Jomo Kenyatta International Airport in plenty of time for your onward flight.
